To find quality walking we go beyond popular opinions and traditional trainings and look to the principles of nature itself. These fundamental principles are integral to The Feldenkrais Method and are derived from the organic movement coordination's evident in young children.

Interesting and sometimes quirky, counter-intuitive micro-movements inherent within the Feldenkrais Method are the key to amazing and trans-formative results.
This life changing, fun and liberating workshop combines easy gentle indoor movement explorations with outdoor walks along the rivers edge.

WHAT MAKES THIS TRAINING UNIQUE?

The Feldenkrais Method makes use of the inherent ability your nervous system has to sense you and your environment. We use this information to learn how to move in new ways. New ways that reflect how you were designed to move as you once did as a little kid.

Improvement comes as a result of:
  • Your nervous system's extraordinary ability to learn fresh ways to move, that are MORE efficient and pleasurable and far LESS effortful.
  • Greater conscious awareness of stressful movement habits and new options for action.
  • Explore specifically designed Feldenkrais lessons to access novel patterns of movement, along with directed attention.
  • Access the brains unique capacity to change itself, we call this quality neuroplasticity.

PROGRAM-

We begin  INDOORS in a laboratory style setting, where you'll be invited to explore unfamiliar movements in your own time and within a supportive and playful environment.
Your delight and curiosity will be engaged as you discover fresh new ways to move. You'll be amazed!

Followed  by an OUTDOORS session where we walk along the rivers edge and luxuriate in the fluidity and bliss of moving well.

As the series advances you will use walking poles (provided) to further awaken your skeleton to more fully distribute the load and transmission throughout your whole body.

FIND YOUR HIPS!

In this training we look for and locate your hip joints and identify their very very specific role in ALL activities involving limbs and torso.

When we do NOT engage the hip joints as they are designed to be engaged, 'wear  & tear injuries' occur in weight bearing joints above and below.  Lumber vertebrae, knees, ankles, neck and shoulders are all forced to compensate. suble but long term habits of compensation result in unnecessary tension, tightness, inflammation, pain and subsequent damage and worse still surgery.
Don't let this be you, these long term stressful 'unconscious' habits can be both very costly and life changing!


EFFORTLESS GARDENING

Pushing Equipment – how to use a wheelbarrow, lawn mower (unpack a dishwasher, push a vac, wipe table tops, clean windows)
